i KNOW i WILL PROBABLY GET THUMBS DOWN FOR THIS, BUT…. IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY CASH FOR A RING THEN IT IS OUT OF YOUR MEANS AND YOU SHOULDN’T BUY IT.

Sorry but I agree w/ Kissy on this one big time.

The best thing to do is save up for it. Jewelry has a very high markup & most places are gonna either jack up the price or charge you a high APR.

Avoid getting ripped off at the mall. Check out Bluenile.com or Costco. You’re likely to find a quality item at a fair price at these two places - maybe even something you can afford right now w/ cash.

I agree with the above posts, if you havent got the cash just save up for a bit. you can always buy a token ring in the meantime and then buy something more expensive when you are able. Buying anything on credit these days is a bad idea I think…

alternatively you could get a bespoke engagement ring made, at least that way you can dictate the budget, though not sure if they’d have a minimum budget requirement… just google “bespoke engagement ring” or “custom made engagement rings” for some local companies… like:
