I’m currently going to the University of South Florida and am majoring in Statistics. I have been thinking about doing a minor for some time now, and am wondering if a good one would be Finance. I’m just trying to think of weather or not that would help me land a job even slightly quicker here in the USA when I graduate. I looked into careers like financial analyst and loan officer. I also know you can get jobs in insurance. What I would like to know more about is if this is a good career path. I looked up information on the internet of course, but I would like to know from people who have experience in this field. After reading the information on loan officer it seems like a good and interesting career, but is it hard to land a job in that area? What other jobs can you get with a degree in finance? Are all jobs going to be competitive to get?

I took a career interest test and I was a 100 percent match for finance/accounting and criminal justice. All other careers were 75% or less. This seems to be right for me. Now my question is which careers in these fields would be a great choice, as far as pay, job demand, and schooling? I am 28 years old and have 2 children if this helps and i am enrolled in a community college. Thank you for your help.

Hi, i plan to study Bachelor of Finance at Australian National University, however i have to choose to major in either of “corporate finance and investment management” or “quantitative finance”. From what i udnerstand, corporate finance is more theoritical and has to do with business financing while quantitative finance has to do with math. could someone tell me more about both subjects? what kind of job can you get after studying each of these?

FYI I have a very strong mathematical background but i dont like computer programing. I did very well (not bragging) in all the other subjects in highschool as well. I do have interest in math but i want to study somehting that would help me secure a gd job. what do you suggest?
