Would it be worthwhile to add something completely unrelated to a finance major?
MEA asked:
Maybe a minor in english or writing, or is it better to stick to minors like economics, IT and accounting? Is a finance major even worth it in this turbulent economy?

Future employers don’t really cares about your minor a whole lot. It’s best to pick a subject that you enjoy and will actually get some use out of the knowledge.
Personally, I would recommend something related to finance.
But if you love English or psychology, go for it.
A major in finance is very worth it, even in today’s economy. You will have a lot of options, but you probably need to get certified in personal finance, corporate finance, etc. (not sure of the exact certifications).
PS I never understood the difference between finance majors and accounting majors….
